Shared Services
The traditional definition of Shared Services is : Shared Services are those which a single entity provides to two or more different organizations (clients, business units, brands, agencies, etc.) in exchange for an agreed-upon price, quality and/or other key performance indicators with the goal of reducing cost, improving satisfaction and adding value to the organization.
Dennis Farrell within our team has been involved in the research and establishment of Shared Services within South Africa since 1999. Under his leadership the Global Shared Services and Outsourcing Network (SSON) has awarded him and the team global recognition for the best new shared services implemented in 2005 as well for thought leadership in this field.
We believe that we have positioned Shared Services as an industry to the next level through our consultation and implementation with our approach and renewed definition of Shared Services being:
"The Shared Services Organization (SSO) is categorized by the "co-accountable" agreement in which it offers customer centric products, services and business consulting in both transformational and transactional interactions to the business partners it engages with. The SSO's objective is to enable its business partner to achieve the business goals of the business partner, utilizing and engaging the resources of the SSO as well as its associate strategic business alliances. The engagement agreement between the SSO and the business partner will be governed by a governance agreement inclusive of metrics, service level agreements and risk and compliance plans"
